Meet Melissa
The first thing that comes to mind when I think about describing myself is that I am a mom. I am a mother of two wonderful kids, my son is 17 and my daughter is 10. I have loved taking photos since I was little. I was the one out of my friends who was always taking photos and I would print them off immediately and organize them into albums. (No digital back then!)
I have been doing photography for about 9 years now. After my daughter was born, I didn’t want to return to my office job so I dove head-first into this adventure and never looked back. I am mostly self taught, spending countless hours taking workshops, studying, learning, and practicing on my own children (my daughter thinks I should start paying her!)

I have an addiction to backdrops and props. You can never have enough options!
I love coffee! (But who doesn't, right?)
We have a pet guinea pig that is very spoiled and gets lots of cuddles.
We lived in Northern Alberta for the past 8 years.
Had such a wonderful experience yesterday with my little guys newborn pictures. Melissa was so gentle and patient, even when we had to take a 40 minute break to get him back to sleep. She never seemed stressed or rushed and I was very relaxed just sitting and watching all the cuteness unfold.
I definitely recommend her for newborn shoots! I have two other kids and I wish I would have used Vivid Expressions for them when they were first born.

Had an awesome experience today with our newborn session. Melissa was very patient with our baby who wouldn’t settle. Her props and back drops are beautiful. She spent time posing our daughter just right. One very talented photographer, we will definitely be using her again to capture our very special moments.

Got my maternity pictures done by Melissa and they turned out great, just had newborn pictures done yesterday and she was so great with my little girl. I am so excited to see them when they are done! Thanks again you are truly amazing!

Regular Session
approximately 1 hour for $250 + GST. This includes a minimum of 25 edited high resolution images (all in color and black & white) with printing rights
Regular mini Session
approximately 30 minutes for $150 + GST. This includes 12-15 edited high resolution images (all in color and black & white) with printing rights

newborn session
These session can take up to approx. 2 - 3 hours for $450+GST. This includes a minimum of 25 edited high resolution digital images (all in color and black & white) with printing rights.
I have everything needed for your newborn session, props, wraps, furs, hats etc.
It is never too early to book your newborn session, Because your baby’s birth date is unpredictable a time frame will be reserved for you. We recommend having newborn pictures taken in the first 2 weeks (6-14 days is ideal)

cake smash session
These sessions are about 1 hour
$300 + GST
-including a giant cupcake or simple round cake
-Add on family/sibling photos $50
- minimum of 30 edited high resolution digital images
- a ready to print collage
They include formal pre-smash photos in an outfit of your choice, cake smash photos, and bath photos (baths are photographed in a super cute toddler-sized clawfoot bathtub). I custom design all sets and include your cake so it matches perfectly, and you don't have to worry about travelling with it. *If special order props or backdrops are requested additional costs may apply.

seasonal mini session
Seasonal mini sessions take place in my studio in Langley. They are styled and include the use of fun accessories and props and are a great way to get up-to-date photographs of your children for yourself or as gifts at a reduced rate!
Mini sessions are planned around many of the holidays throughout the year including but not limited to: Valentines Day, Easter, Halloween, and Christmas. Sessions are advertised on social media (Facebook).
Mini sessions are planned on specific days and spots are limited and fill quickly.
